2003 Euro League - Munich Leg - Introduction
Sat 09th August 2003 (mens: 11-a-side, ladies: 7-a-side)

Kerrygold European Gaelic Football League 2003, Munich leg.

The tournament takes place on August 9th 2003, and will involve a number of clubs from the European circuit. Location is S.V. Gartenstadt Truedering training grounds, Heinrich-Wieland-Straße 102, 81735 München. On the day, teams will arrive between 9am and 9.30am with throw-in at 10am.A considerable number of spectators are expected, not only people directly or indirectly involved with the club, but also, as a result of the growing interest in gaelic games in Munich, the locals are looking forward to seeing gaelic football first hand, for the first time.

The Colmcilles intend on building on their position in the Euroleague tables, and hope for a repeat of last years home victory, the first tournament win for the 'Cilles. However, they face tough opposition, particularly from Luxembourg GFC, Paris Gaels, and Den Haag GFC, all chasing the 2003 Euroleague title (click here for Euro League rankings). The Munich ladies also intend on making their mark, and reckon that the home advantage is just what they need to win their first piece of silverware since the ladies team foundation in July 2001.
