Christmas Dinner 2002 Report

    The München Colmcilles second annual Christmas dinner took place in Kilians Irish pub in Munich city center on 13th December 2002. Approximatly 45 people attended the function. The night began at 7.30pm with Francis Buckley, club events officer, dispensing the Augustiner Helles keg from Kilians.

    Chairperson Maria Lane briefly addressed the attendance followed by the meal commencing at 8pm. A full christmas dinner of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy and vegtables was on the menu, followed by Apfelstrudel for desert. The annual awards were then announced by the club development officer Pat Stakelum:

    Following that was the National Semi Conductor quiz. It was a five round affair, run by quizmaster and club secretary Brendan Holohan. Out of 8 competing teams, each having four members, club trainer Kevin McGleenons' team came out victorious.

    The final stage of the night was the raffle, taking place at midnight, with approximatly 10 prizes for the taking. Many thanks to all who donated prizes for the night, including Mulligans Irish Pub, The old Irish pub, Gunther Murphys, Tom Phelan Parquett Floors, 4 Soft e-business solutions, Rucker A.G., National Semi Conductor, Quam, and everyone else concerned. Also thanks to Àine Twomey (P.R.O) and Dan Galavan (webmaster) for selling the raffle tickets throughout the night and Paul Larkin and Niall McCorley for the newsletter production. Finally a big thankyou to everyone who took part in preparing for and organising the party and to everyone who came along.
